I ship Lily/Snape AND Lily/James but this--THIS. It's so perfectly represented I slow applauded in my living room. Snape loves her deeply but that doesn't necessarily mean that he would've made a good life-partner. Sad to admit, but it's true.
Snape had abusive parents. He'd probably be scared that he'd end up a bad parent like his parents. Plus, imagine Snape making those noises that people make around babies. "Whooooo's a good wittle baby? Da's right, you are! abusbsoiugh" I have just greatly amused myself with that visual.
I agree with Kat1224, im sick of people bagging out James! they say that james and sirius were the bad guys? wtf, snape was a death eater and both sirius and james were in the order and died protecting harry.
I don't think you got Snape wrong at all. Severus didn't mature at all. He was, when he was a kid all the way through to his death, a bully. I hate that James gets so little respect. It's almost as though because people didn't get to see James that much they went on the small amount of info they had, and refused to believe that he could change. People often forget that Snape, was, is and always will be, a bully. His love for Lily doesn't change that. He didn't deserve her.
Really? Even after he called her "Mudblood" when she tried to help him? After he sold her out to the V-Man? After how much of a bully and a creeper he was in school? Even after Rowling said it would never have worked?
Yes. Look, think about having such a childhood...of course, part of his acerbity comes from himself, but...well, James was a bully, too, eh? And he did mainly join the Death Eaters because he was so desperate, and he didn't know he betrayed Lily. And look, how sad and full of self-contempt he is for that. And that with Rowling, well, I didn't know this, but I'm still absolutely Sev/Lily. Poor one...
Yeah, but James grew the Hell up. Snape, even when he was supposed to be protecting Harry, still bullied him just because he looked like James Potter. I don't think any sensible woman would want to be married to someone that petty.
No, no he didn't 'grow the hell up'. He got better at *hiding* what he did to Snape so Lily would date him. Read the books again, they never stopped fighting. Snape's got plenty of good fucking reasons to be petty. Whether it's right is completely irrelevant.
Did you just say it's irrelevant whether Snape took out his revenge on his old bully's kid, who had nothing to do with his crappy childhood? Remember, Snape's whole reason for bullying Harry was that he looked like James.
