Though my romantic experience suggests that my advice will be worse than useless, perhaps telling him will give you some measure of closure, at least?

I know how that feels, I have recently started crushing on this guy I sit next to in my art class and became less talkative in that class due to him being on a French exchange. when he got back I was going to confess my feelings for him when he came in and told everyone how he now has a French girlfriend called clemance. I am currently eating a tub of ben and jerry's cookie dough ice cream trying to find some self esteem and to stop moping like Myrtle and to focus on my studies. not going to well at the moment...

honey at least the guy you luv is real! imagine being completely in love with a fictional character who is perfect for someone else and you have no chance of him ever luvin you back?

* eyes widen and shakes head at ones self in realisation * Damn... I have got it bad... also all this fanfiction is not helping either, especially till three in the morning...I think I need help actually.

I have as good a chance with him as a fictional character. (Out of curiosity, who is the fictional character?)

I second the comment from Art-loving-Fairybug - just take the plunge & tell him before it's too late. Unless you'd rather have him as a friend than not at all - if you tell him how you feel, it's likely that you may make your friendship awkward (at least for a while, but maybe your dynamic will change dramatically). You can either move on (difficult though I know that to be!), or risk telling him. All I know is that obsessions seldom lead to happiness. The fantasy is likely better than the reality. Good luck girl!!

Thanks for the advice. It's a tough situation in that he's already been living with this girl, they've been together over 7 years, there's no way he'd leave her, especially not for me. So there's no point in taking the risk and telling him, but it makes it all the more frustrating.

Be honest with him, if only to get it off your chest. Or you might turn into Snape.

I understand - it must be so frustrating and difficult. It's clear from your message that you realise that he's a lost cause - so why continue to torture yourself over him? I don't know you personally of course, but you seem like an expressive, interesting, and funny person - your art testifies to that. You have a lot going for you, and you will find happiness with someone who appreciates you, even though you probably can't imagine someone else right now. Try and consciously limit the time you spend thinking about him, doing him-related things on facebook, etc. - you'll be amazed at how quickly it becomes habit to think about it less, and it will really help you move on. Be strong! You can do it :)

If you were from germany, i would fear you're talking about me xD

Im also engaged, have a boyfriend for over 6 years and a bad fashion-taste.

I really dont know how such guys would feel about a love confession. Maybe everything gets more awkward...

Yeah ... its better not to tell him ...

I say this in full knowledge that it's much easier said than done: you should tell him, before it's too late! Better to know where you stand (even if he turns you down, but especially if he feels the same way) than to always wonder 'what if'. You have nothing to lose, and everything to gain. I beg you, don't let him slip away without a fight!

Don't torture yourself about what could've been. And don't creep on her Facebook , it won't help your feelings. You should boycott Facebook for the time being. You might have lost the guy but you got your independence. Embrace the freedom of checking out guys without restraint!

Oh darling, I've been there. In my case it was my best friend and his needlessly perfect angel of a girlfriend. I spent an embarrassing amount of time on her Facebook page, looking for something, anything, that would let me knock her of her stupid shiny perfect pedestal of talent and kindness. And then I realized guys are dumb and I'd rather watch Disney movies and eat ice cream. I still hate seeing them together, but at least I know I have about a dozen Disney princes and a tub of Ben & Jerry's waiting for me when it becomes too much to deal with.

I know exactly how you feel. Love sucks. I found my guy's livejournal and it was nothing but little love notes to his fiancee. It killed me.

But they called it off after a year of being engaged to each other (I guess she fell out of love with him, probably because she was never really in love with him to begin with). So there's still hope, right? (Not that I would know. He still doesn't seem very interested in me no matter how well I treat him).

Love just sucks.

Ah man, I'm so sorry. ):

Perhaps it's from growing up in Northern America, but people have a tendency to shrug off lost crushes/break-ups/divorces/anything relating to relationships, saying that 'so-and-so is stronger than that and it really doesn't matter that much in the long run'. But in my experience, relationships DO impact a person, and it is hard. Much harder than anyone will ever give you credit for. The heart and mind are not organs to trifle with. These things hurt, and it's easy to get lost in the hurt.

I hope that it gets easier, and don't think negatively of yourself, because that's unfair to you. And I've always found that throwing myself into something productive makes the time pass easier. Also, lots of Mythbusters, if you're into those types of shows. (:

Good luck, you have a lot of cyberpeople sending happy wishes your way!

(And on a side note, the animation and art is very well done! I've always loved your style of people.)
